AVE Visits Capitol Hill to Discuss Supplier Efforts and Challenges to Decarbonize the Transportation Sector

AVE members returned to Capitol Hill last week to update members of Congress on the enormous investments auto suppliers are making to help decarbonize the transportation sector and to share information about the engine technologies that can better our environment today.

Special thanks go out to, Congresswoman Haley Stevens and Congressman John Moolenaar for taking time to discuss the need for strong supply chains, critical materials, and the workforce that will allow the U.S. to reach its environmental goals.

With the anticipation surrounding the upcoming release of EPA and NHTSA’s notices of proposed rulemakings, AVE’s members visited over a dozen Congressional offices and industry stakeholders to discuss how these standards are expected to impact the automotive sector.

Lee Janger, AVE’s Executive Director, stressed, “This is a very exciting but critical time for the automotive sector, and decision makers need to appreciate the challenges auto suppliers face as they seek to innovate and bring new technologies to market.” He added, “suppliers have the advanced technologies to make an immediate impact on our environment. These technologies can deliver significant improvements today, and we won’t have to wait 12+ years to see if we can meet tomorrow’s goals.”

For over 14 years, AVE has supported technology-neutral regulations that seek to incentivize automotive innovations to improve the environment today and in the future.
